Challenge us with your project. In over 30 years at our Wakefield, Rhode Island shop we have framed almost everything imaginable, and the pieces people assume can't be framed are usually the ones that turn out best.
A Few of Our Favorites
- A miniature kimono, given to a customer as a thank-you gift from one of the many international study abroad students she welcomed into her home over the years.
- A hand-drawn bathroom renovation sketch. A customer's father-in-law sketched out the renovation plan for her family before passing away, unable to see it completed. She had the drawing framed as a gift for her husband, to hang in the finished bathroom.
- A drum top belonging to a customer who is a huge fan of the band Tool.
- A beer tap, given to a business partner when they sold their company. It was from the very first beer they ever made together.
- A shadow box of pop-top prototypes and original invention notes, for a customer whose father invented the pop-top can opener.

How We Approach an Odd Piece
We start with the object itself: how heavy it is, how it needs to be supported, whether it can tolerate light, and how it should come out again if that's ever necessary. From there we design a mounting system around the object rather than forcing it into a standard frame.
None of that requires you to know what you want in advance. Bring the thing in and we'll figure it out together at the counter. Most of these projects start with someone slightly embarrassed to be asking.
Objects With Depth
Dimensional objects are usually built as a custom shadow box, sized and constructed around what's going inside. Textiles and garments have their own mounting requirements, and we handle those differently again.
What We Don't Do
We're straightforward about our limits. We don't do frame repair. For canvas or paper restoration, artwork installation, or oversized printing, we're happy to refer you to people we trust who specialize in each of those.
Common Questions
Is there anything you won't frame?
Very little. If an object shouldn't be framed, or would be better preserved another way, we'll tell you honestly rather than take the project.
How much does an unusual project cost?
It depends entirely on size, depth and the mounting work involved. We quote after seeing the object, and there's no charge for the consultation.
How long does it take?
Timelines vary widely with complexity. We'll give you an accurate estimate once we've seen the piece and worked out the approach.
Can you frame something worn or damaged?
Yes, and we generally advise leaving the wear alone. With objects like these, the patina is usually the point.
